Star & Lux works with homeowners, developers, investors and businesses alike to produce stunning interiors on budget and on time. Interior design commissions have ranged from exclusive city homes  to stylish country retreats; from studios to barbers and hotels.

Listening to and understanding our client is vital to the success of any interior design project.
At the initial meeting we discuss the client’s needs, personal tastes and how they work, or will work, within the space so that we get a clear view of their hopes and aspirations for the property. We use this information to tailor the interior design to create a totally unique finish that suits the client perfectly.
There is no charge for the initial consultation. A nominal design fee is agreed at this stage in order for Star & Lux to produce designs that are presented to the client at the next stage.

Interior designs are put together to fit the client’s budget.
A design for each room is presented, showing the colour scheme, furniture pieces, lighting specification, floor finishes, fabric palettes and room layouts.
Photo-realistic CGIs are used, as appropriate and where requested, to help the client visualise the scheme.
Following the initial presentation, schemes are revised where necessary, until the client is completely happy.

We have teams of architects and builders we regularly work with from the initial concept to the finished turnkey solution.
Should the client want to work with their own preferred architect or builder, we are very happy to work alongside them.
Our attention to detail ensures a smooth experience for our clients and a high quality finish to all our projects.
Our project management fee is charged either by the hour or as a percentage of the build cost, whichever the client is most comfortable with.

Fabrics, wall coverings, accessories and floor finishes
Star & Lux sources and supplies fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, accessories, floor coverings and all other relevant components for the scheme.
Curtains and upholstery
We work alongside superlative local trades people offering full soft furnishing, upholstery and curtain-making service.
Furniture, joinery and rug design
Star & Lux can design bespoke furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, dressing rooms and libraries to suit the client and the property perfectly.
We can also design beautiful bespoke rugs.
We work with art dealers and can acquire art and antiques on behalf of the client.

It is of the utmost importance to us that clients feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the process, so it is vital that costs are clear from the outset and are tailored to fit the budget set by the client. We always work within the budget set by the client.
Fees vary according to the room size and the scope of works.  A detailed quote is sent following the briefing meeting.
The interior design fee covers the sourcing of the furniture, fixtures and fittings, fabrics, wall-coverings, floor finishes and all provision of relevant samples for the client to review.
It also covers floor plans and furniture layouts. Photorealistic CGIs are quoted separately, as requested.

Some clients prefer to manage their own designs and just need guidance and advice.
Fees are: half-day £250 (four hours) or full-day £750 (seven-hour day including lunch).

Star & Lux offers a personal shopping service to accompany clients on visits to showrooms, art galleries, antiques dealers and fairs within a 20 mile radius of Portsmouth. further afield please ask for our fees.
Fees are: half-day £200 (four hours) or full-day £350 (seven-hour day including lunch).
